Nagpur: Ulhas Gharde aka ‘Modi’, a citizen of Bhandara who found himself in the center of political controversy involving the State Congress and BJP, appearing before the current media.
Gharde said he was afraid of his life because some unidentified people tried to contact him and he became overwhelmed.
It all began with a viral video clip where President Nana Patole’s Congress was heard saying that he could be about ‘modi’.
BJP continued the attack, claiming that Mla Sakoli spoke about Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while Patole said he referred to a village troublemaker from his home district.
On January 18, Patole told the media that Bhandara police had ‘catch’ the modi he was talking about.
Toi then spoke with sources at the Bhandara police who confirmed that the filing complaint and the man had been identified as Ulhas Gharde, but denied that anyone had been ‘caught’, the word which was usually considered ‘captured’.
On Friday night, Gharde appeared before the media together with Satish Lawyer Ukey and confirmed the patole defense.
Gharde said, “In my village everyone called me Modi, and it was also for a long time.” He then talked about the reason why Patole was so angry with him.
“I am drunk and reach Patole polls.
Under the influence of alcohol, I say a few things about patole, which I don’t mean,” Gharde said.
These statements were reported to Patole, which then proceeded to make a statement that was heard in the video clip.
Ukey said, “Gharde came to me in Nagpur because he was afraid of his life because many unknown people were trying to contact him.
It was also clear now that Patole did not talk about PM Modi because there was a great respect for the constitutional post he held.”
