Pau leading cotton scientist died

Ludhiana: Postgraduate Study of Punjab Agricultural University Former Dean Tejinder Harpan Singh, who led the research on cotton for more than three decades at the University, died on Wednesday at the age of 86.
He was born on June 28, 1935, in Bhini Daresa Village Ludhiana and joined Pau In 1969 as the Scientist Cotton.singh assistant was a leading cotton scientist for an international reputation.
He remained associated with research and development activities in cotton for three decades and worked as the leader of the cotton research team in Pau.
He gave leadership to breed the work of cotton and other plants as head of the plant breeding department.
His efforts have obtained a punjab place to stand out on the map of Indian cotton.
Singh and his team developed 18 varieties of high and short duration of Desi and American cotton well accepted throughout the country.
He was held very respectfully not only by state and foreign cotton scientists, but also by farmers.
He is a nine award receiver, including GS Khush distinguishing the professor award, from various organizations in recognition of his contribution.
The Governor of Punjab then respected him with the “leader of the survey team” in 1984.
