LONDON: Paul McCartney has visited the farewell of The Beatles, flatly denied the suggestion that he was responsible for the group’s death.
Speaking of the BBC episode Radio 4 “this cultural life” scheduled for air on October 23, McCartney said it was John Lennon who wanted to dissolve the Beatles.
“I didn’t trigger split,” McCartney said.
“That is our Johnny.” Band fans have long been debated responsible for separation, with many blaming McCartney.
But McCartney said Lennon’s desire to “lose rest” was the main driver behind divisions.
Confusion about separation was allowed to march because their managers asked band members to remain silent until he concluded a number of business transactions, said McCartney.
Interviews came in front of a six-hour documentary Peter Jackson recorded the last months of the band.
“The Beatles: Back,” Set for release in November, will definitely review the legendary band separation.
McCartney’s comments were first reported by the observer.
When asked by the interviewer about the decision to strike himself, McCartney replied: “Stop there.
I am not a person who incited divisions.
Oh no, no, no.
John walked into a room one day and said,” I left the Beatles’.
Does it incite divisions, or not? “McCartney expressed sadness over separation, said the group still made” a pretty good thing “.” This is my band, this is my job, this is my life.
So I want to continue, “he said.
