Pavaking them with weak immunity can prevent mutations

New Delhi: Is it possible to prevent SARS-COV-2 mutations? Yes, say scientists.
The virus mutation that caused Covid-19 has been seen mostly in immunekompromical patients – for example who suffer from cancer, TB and HIV, among others – with persistent infections, reported Durgesh Nandan Jha.
In an article published in the New England Journal of Medicine, the Top US scientists argue that high precautions must be taken to divert Covid-19 transmission for patients compromised by immunity in hospitals to reduce this risk.
“Such patients must be prioritized because immunization is not only to protect them from Sarscov-2 but also to reduce sars-cov-2 infection which is constantly,” added the article.
Low immunity people must be fast vaxed: Docsite states that immunocompromed patients with Covid-19 must be informed about the importance of self-isolation to shedding viruses documented to be negative.
“Household contact and near these patients must be vaccinated regardless of age, because asymptomatic infections with the variant of this escape between healthy contacts can facilitate the spread of the new transmission variant community,” said scientists from US Top Institutions, such as Cancer Research Center Fred Hutchinson , Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and Walter Reed Army Institute of Research, among others.
Warning came when the third wave of the Covid-19 pandemic had swallowed many countries because of the distribution of Delta variants, the first tension was identified in India in December.
There are several studies in India to identify and confirm the evolution of Coronavirus in patients compromised immunity.
But doctors from leading hospitals such as AIIMS and Lok Nayak Hospital in Delhi said they also saw many Covid-19 patients who continued to test positive infections for months.
“There are two to three patients who are treated at our hospital today who continue to be positive for two months.
All compromised immunity due to the history of the previous disease tuberculosis and HIV.
Activating these patients will protect them from infection and also reduce the risk of mutation,” Dr.
Suresh Kumar, Medical Director of Lok Nayak Hospital, said.
According to Dr.
Rajesh Malhotra, head of the AIIMS trauma center, which is the designated Covid management center, they have more than 50 patients with chronic kidney failure that survives viruses for more than three months, especially during the first wave.
“We have to keep them hospitalized until they become negative even though they are stable otherwise because there is almost no center to do dialysis for covidpositive patients outside the hospital arrangement,” he said.
Dr.
Malhotra added that the group of other patients, around 40 numbers, which remained positive for Covid-19 for more than a month were them with hematological cancer followed by all types of cancer.
“Patients with lung fungal infections, those who suffer from previous lung diseases such as TB and bronchiectasis also continue to spill viruses for more than three months,” he said.
“Effective monoclonal antibody therapy when initiated at the beginning of the host immunocompromed can prevent the persistence and development of mutant strains,” said the Head of the Trauma AIIMS center.
He also emphasizes the need to vaccinate patients with immunity compromised in priority.
