MOHALI: Police arrested two persons accused of the murder of a 31-year-old woman in Mullanpur area of Mohali district within a day of the crime.
The deceased, identified as Anju, had six children.
She was married to a man named Bakal and was previously married to Bakal’s elder brother, who is no more, police said.
The victim’s body was discovered by Bakal on Wednesday.
She was allegedly killed by her father-in-law and her minor stepson, both of whom fled after committing the crime but were caught.
SHO, Mullanpur, sub-inspector Satinder Singh said, “Rajinder Singh has been produced in a local court on Thursday and is under police remand for four days whereas the minor stepson has been produced in juvenile court and has been sent to juvenile custody.
We are investigating the matter.
