Chandigarh: The Joint Government Doctor Coordination Committee (JGDCC) on Saturday announced a strike for 12 weeks from July 12 to close the health and veterinary services, including OPSD, throughout Punjab.
However, services related to Emergency, Covid-19, Post-Mortem and Medico / Vetro-Legal will continue as usual.
Doctors have protested the recommendations of the sixth state payment commission around secretly from the Non-Practicipation Allowance (NPA) from the basic payment and NPA reduction from 25% to 20%.
The Punjab government has begun to pay NPA from 2011 with a level of 25% of the basic payment of the pattern of the central government with the aim of maintaining doctors in government services and to examine the medical professional exodus of the country.
Minister of Health Punjab Balbir Singh Sidhu recently convinced the committee to resolve problems in a week.
The combined committee decides that all doctors in the state will boycott the Government OPD and JGDCC will run parallel Opd in the hospital page so that requires not seized from health / veterinary services.
They also announced that during boycotting health services, all state doctors will donate blood and wise blood donor camps will be held on July 15, 16 and 17.

Inderveer Gill issues a statement, that agitation is to store the public health care system.
“We will oppose every step of the government directed at destroying the public health system.”
