Chandigarh: The Speaker of the State Assembly of KP Singh accepts the resignation of Bholath MLA Sukhpal Singh Khaira on Tuesday.
Khaira has left Congress and won the 2017 Assembly election from Bholath in AAP Ticket.
He stopped at the party after he was ‘without further ado’ removed as opposition leader.
He formed the Punjabi ETTA agreement ahead of the Lok Sabha 2019 poll as Mla at that time.
Confirming his reception on his resignation, Khaira said, “I have resigned as Mla on June 3 before joining the Congress.
After that, the speaker asked me to submit his resignation in the right format, which I did today.

It has been accepted.
“Meanwhile, the notification was issued by the Secretariat of Punjab Vidhan Sabha, who said that due to resignation by Khaira, the Bholath assembly chair had fallen emptiness from October 19.
Because the polls of the State Assembly will be held early next year, no bypoll.
The possibility is held to fill the seat.
Previously, AAP had demanded Disqualification Khaira about the request that he had formed his own party.
The speaker has held an audience of the disqualification petition against AAP MLA which has switched and the decision is still awaited.
