Pb to spur vax coverage with cash prizes for staff

Chandigarh: To increase the coverage of Covid-19 vaccination ahead of the election of assembly of February 20, Punjab has decided to provide target-based cash incentives to staff and involve additional workers.
The State Health Department was thinking about these steps after the electoral commission and the central government asked him to intensify drive vaccination in urban and rural areas in priority.
Punjab has so far been vaccinated some of about 88% and provided both doses to 55% of the population who qualified, and features among countries with vaccination coverage of less than the national average.
The Director of the National Health Mission (NHM), in communication for all DCS, has directed them to prepare a comprehensive plan at the district and sub-district level by adding effort to Asha workers in rural areas and by hiring volunteers in urban areas to achieve the remaining recipients.
In rural areas, Asha workers are asked to prepare a list of beneficiaries remaining and mobilize them for vaccination.
They will be given cash incentives of Rs 150 to ensure the vaccination of 50 people from their area intended, Rs 300 for 100 people and Rs 500 to ensure 100% vaccination coverage in the area.
Progress must be monitored by the Medical Officer’s senior block that cares every day.
To intensify vaccinations in urban areas, deputy commissioners have been authorized to involve additional teams for vaccination work on a fixed daily wage of Rs 500 per day for pharmacists / nurses staff and nurses nurses (ANM) as vaccinators.
The level per day to involve computer operators has been repaired at RS 300.
Expenditures will be included under the state disaster response fund.
DC has been directed to review the implementation and analysis of data every day.
After a slow start in January, the vaccination rate has increased in the state.
In the last 19 days, 47.2 doses of lakh were given to the beneficiaries of qualified, more than 47% higher than the 22.4 dose of lakh given in December.
Overall, 3.22 Crore doses have been given in the state.
Of these, 1.94 Crore receivers have been given the first dose, 1.27 crores have received a second dose, and 1.39 lakh people have got a booster shot.
