PCB to conduct water audits of all 394 connections

Pune: The Pune Cantonment Board (PCB) has decided to conduct a water audit of all 394 water connections in his jurisdiction.
PCB officials say that 60 to 70 this connection is “closed” for years.
However, they still get a bill for this connection from Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), which supplies water to Cantonment.
“We have approached Maharashtra Jeevan Pradhikaran (MJP) to conduct water audits.
This is the first time a third-party agent will check the water connection in the Cantonment,” said Chief Executive Officer PCB Amit Kumar.
“The first priority and especially we are to overcome the difference in water bills and correct water costs according to water connections,” he said.
“This will help us manage our expenses and reduce costs too,” Kumar added.
A senior official from MJP said that it would take at least two months to complete the water audit.
“We have to float the tender for the job once PCB pays the fee for it,” officially added.
“We will hold a meeting with the official Cantonment officials to decide on our strategy.
Do they want to do a door-to-door check for each connection in their area to be resolved or decided at the meeting,” he said.
The Canton authority said they wanted to examine every water connection in the civil and military area.
“In some places, the Cantonment board has made Borewell and does not use PMC water connection.
But still, we get the bill.
Likewise, there are other problems too.
This exercise will help us to overcome this worries in the coming days,” said a person Officials from the Cantonment technique section.
PMC officials said that the water audit was a decision taken by the Cantonment and would help the institution / authority to resolve the deadlock over a delayed water bill.
