Pune: Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has announced that it is preparing a special kiosk to distribute covid vaccine tokens to beneficiaries.
The official of the Civic body said the kiosk will appear on eight vaccination sites.
Beneficiaries can collect their tokens of the machine and submit them on vaccination sites.
This step, the official said, will streamline the queue at the Covid vaccination center, many of which have seen an argument out between staff and beneficiaries.
Vikas Dhakane, the additional PCMC commissioner, said, “The first interactive kiosk will be installed in eight vaccination centers.
We think of installing a few more at the Zonal PCMC office.
We will immediately come out with a detailed guide.

“Dhakane said regardless of the kiosk, PCMC also planned to introduce biometric devices to verify the tokens received by beneficiaries.
One official from PCMC said there had been cases of beneficiaries collecting more than one tokens.
Covid-19 inoculation in the district on Monday continues to be influenced by the availability of a limited vaccine.
Tuesday, due to low covishield reserves, PMC and PCMC vaccination center will only hold the Covaxin drive.
PMC said Covaxin would be offered from six sites while PCMC said it would have four operational centers for groups of 18 and 60-pluses.
Dr.
Sanjay Deshmukh, Assistant Director (Medical), Pune Circle, said the district tended to receive fresh vaccine batch on Tuesday night.
“So far this month, we have received almost 5.62 lakh doses from Covaxin and Covishield.
We hope to get four batches for the rest of July,” said Dr.
Deshmukh.
