Peace ends with a 6-hour bandh congress over Mamita Murder

Written by news2in

Bhubaneswar: Congress observed the bandh of the countries and took a peaceful protest demonstration on Friday to suppress the resignation of the State Minister for Shankar Mishra for alleged relations with the main accusation in the murder of the Mamita Meer School.
Although the Congress has called for a complete bandh from 6am to noon, the Orissa High Court, hearing the petition on Thursday firmly denied permission for each step of coercion and called it illegal, citing the command of the Supreme Court.
The High Court allows Congress only to observe peaceful protests and warn action if you use strength or force people to stay indoors, decorate the shop windows and disrupt the public transportation system.
Given the high court order, people moved from their homes, shop owners and vendors doing normal business, offices and banks that function as usual and public transport systems remained unaffected.
Police said the bandh called the Congress was peaceful.
There are no unwanted incidents or violence reported from anywhere in the state.
Adequate police personnel are mobilized to ensure the security and comfort of people in public places, said an officer of the State Police Headquarters.
Congress called bandh successful.
“We fulfill the orders of the letter and the Spirit of the Orissa High Court.
Only peace protests are made to suppress our request for the resignation of the Minister of Mishra,” said the President of Congress, Chiranjib Baljamwal.
Niranjan State Congress President Patnaik said the party would continue to fight for justice for Mamita.
“The police sat quietly by catching the main allegations of Gobinda Sahu.
But they have not brought Minister of Mishra’s junior high school under the scope of the investigation.
The government only offers the safety and empowerment of women.
In fact, women feel insecure in the state,” Niranjan said.
