Vadodara: With the aim of curbing the problem of drug addiction among young people in the city, the police have initiated a boost to identify suspects and addicts captured in the city in the past two decades, making them stay under the radar.
“We have explored data on all violations registered under narcotics and psychotropic substances (NDPS) acting in the city in the last 20 years.
Our team tracked the vendors accused and drug addicts,” Shamsher Singh, Commissioner of the City Police, added that the police would contact They are to collect more detail about illegal networks.
“We will find out their current work and also check whether they are still related to the smuggled trade.
We will scan their cellphone call records and oversee their routine.

Areas around schools and colleges are being closely monitored.
“We have also formed a committee in each police station that will include ACP, school teachers and social workers who will advise addicts, help track vendors and also spread awareness about drug addiction problems,” Singh added.
The police said that if they found young addicts, they would treat them as victims and were not accused.
Efforts will be made to advise and bring them into the De-Addiction program.
