New Delhi: CPM on Thursday said Spyware Skandal Pegasus is not only a case of privacy and illegal violations, but is part of “greater authoritarian architecture” to “consolidate authoritarian Hindu regimes”, “intimidating” and even “squeezing” constitutional body officials.
In the People’s Democratic Editorial published on Thursday, CPM said the lessons that can be learned from supervision are that “all ways to be adopted” to build and consolidate authoritarian Hindutva regimes.
“Like UPA, the computer hacking the defendant in the case of Bhima-Koregaon to plant malware as evidence, the use of the Directorate of Enforcement and other Central Institutions to intimidate and imprison, Pegasus is a cyber weapon against potential opponents and threats,” it said.
CPM Alleged Pegasus Spyware is designed to “protect those in power and to disrupt the opposition and monitor the sounds of investigations in the media”.
Referring to “unpleasant” targeting telephone numbers related to women who complained of sexual harassment by former chairman of the Indian chairman, and separately, distinguishing the Section Commissioner of Ashok Lavasa, the CPM funnel editorial also said it was important for the preservation of a democratic system and protecting the rights of citizens that permanent accountability for those who go beyond the law and violate all legal boundaries.
“Because the Modi government is in the rejection and trying to protect the guilty, it is very important that a high-level investigation is carried out.
The Supreme Court must start and supervise such an investigation,” he added.
