New Delhi: Unauthorized media supervision reports using Pegasus software do not have a factual basis, IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw told Lok Sabha today.
The report, appearing on the night of the Monsoon Parliament session, looks more than just a coincidence, and is an attempt to slander Indian democracy, he said.
The minister calls the accusation as “above.” He said sudden examples of similar surveillance charges using Pegasus spyware were rejected by people allegedly targeted.
“The accusation is an individual associated with this telephone number for eyes.
However, the report said that the presence of telephone numbers in data did not reveal whether a device was infected by Pegasus or experienced hacking efforts,” Vaishnaw said.
He expressed trust in the Indian system to prevent illegal monitoring.
“Every form of illegal supervision is not possible with examinations and balances in our law and strong institutions.
In India, there are established procedures where legal interception of electronic communication is carried out for national security purposes,” Vaishnaw said in Lok Sabha.
According to reports that appear on Sunday night, Israeli software is used to hack into several individual smartphones, including India, for electronic supervision.
Journalists, Activists and Politicians are said to be on the list of affected people.

The leader of the Shashi Tharoor party said this problem was serious and regarding national security.
He demanded an independent judicial investigation or an investigation by the Joint Parliament Committee.
Head of Bihar Minister Nitish Kumar rang caution to adopt new technology, and said they could be vulnerable to the abuse.
“I have said that new technology will definitely create problems.
We must see this aspect.
Such new technologies are useful, but people also abuse them.
Social media has a broad impact,” Kumar said.
An international media consortium reports that more than 300 cell phone numbers are verified, including some in India, can be targeted to hack through Israel spyware which is only sold to government institutions.
The government has dismissed allegations of all types of supervision on their part in certain people.
