We have given him responsibility to lead the team and choose other members,” he said.
According to officials, while there were no signs dedicated to the history of the tomb, an inscription on the structure revealed that it was “sacred for Major Memorizing Jean Etienne”, which came from Bordeaux, France, and died on “5 June 1821 advertising” at age 75.
The inscription also stated that he served the Begum of Sombre for 35 years and was a “dashing” and “honest man”.
Begum Sombre, who had started his career as a ‘dancing girl’ in the 18th century and then married the captain of the Sombre, has become popular as ‘Begum Samru’ among the locals who struggled to say the name ‘Sombre’, Intach’s official said, said .
After the death of her husband, Begum Sombre inherited his mercenaries and began to lead him.
