Rajkot: The Ministry of Education’s team visited the city school after a video showing students, whose fees were delayed, made to sit outside the classroom became viral.
Videos, injections at Unnati School, were recorded by parents whose daughters were also forced to sit in the corridor outside the classroom.
The incident occurred on Friday when grade 10 and 12 students were called at school to verify personal details due to filling out the Gujarat Board exam.
The video shows a woman, maybe a teacher, asks about 10 students to sit in the corridor outside the classroom.
When the person who recorded a video on his cellphone asked for a reason, the students answered that it was because they could not pay school fees.
The students also look complaining that they were forced to write a test sitting in the corridor outside the classroom.
The source said that the school is currently closed for diwali holidays but students 10 and 12 are called to verify details such as full names, birth dates, subjects choose to and send photos before completing the data for the Gujarat Board exam.
District Education officer B S Kaila told TI that a team was sent to school.
“I have seen videos and a team goes to school on Saturday but no students are present because of the vacation Diwali.
A team will return to school on Monday and record their students’ statements and parents and after that we will issue notice to school For explanation, “Kaila said.
Sanjay Joshi, school administrator, cannot be contacted for comments.
