Nagpur: The Pengh Tiger Reserve (PTR), Maharashtra, has added 144 species of birds to the checklist.
With this, PENH now has 308 species of birds, as a survey of years ago has caused bird experts to identify 164 species.
The PENH area is 257 square kilometers when the first bird survey conducts identifying 164 species.
Last November, when the first bird week was being celebrated, the former Director of the Govekar Hospital field has signed the MoU with Central India Bird Academy (CIBA), Nagpur, to conduct a new survey.
According to the MoU, the CIBA team identified whether the pest was habitat for the Owlet Forest endemic, studying the breeding of the Sacuk Malabar, and water birds in Navaegaon Khairy and Totladoh Reservoir, and the capacity building of field staff.
During the past year, the Ciba team was led by Dr.
Anil Pimplapure, Nitin Marathe, Jayant Wadatkar, and Wagh’s hazardous workshop to murder staff.
WhatsApp group made involving field staff, who used to post pictures of birds recorded in Tiger reserves.
Ciba team is used to identify them.
It helps staff increase their knowledge of birds.
All species of birds found in all seasons were recorded and the list was released on the Sunday of the bird that had just been concluded.
Deputy Forest Conservator (DYCF) Rahul Gavai said, “A similar MoU for a quick survey of birds and her habitat has been signed with Ciba for Drill Tiger Reserve (BTR) and Sanctuary Wildlife Umred-Karhandla-Paoni.”
