Washington: China continues to “take a gradual and tactical action” to reduce its claim in the actual control line (LAC) with India and has not succeeded in trying to prevent Delhi from deepening its relationship with the United States, the Pentagon has said in the report.
“RRC (Chinese People’s Republic) strives to prevent border tensions causing India to become a closer partner to the United States.
RRC officials have warned US officials not to disrupt the PRC relationship with India,” The Defense Department told the US Congress on Wednesday.
Pentagon regularly reported to Congress on the Indo-Chinese military deadlock in East Ladakh.
The department has categorically said China pampered aggressive and coercive behavior with its neighbors, India in particular.
The Pentagon said that even though there was diplomatic and military dialogue which was ongoing to reduce border tensions, China continued to grow “take gradual and tactical actions” to reduce their claims in the LAC.
“In 2020, China built a large 100-house civil village in the disputed region between the Tibetan Autonomous Region of China and the country of Pradesh Arunachal India in the East Sector Lac.
This and other infrastructure development efforts along India-China have become a source of concerns in The Indian government, “said Pentagon.
