WASHINGTON: The standing of US security assistance to Pakistan which has been suspended from the prior Donald Trump-led government has not altered, ” the Pentagon Press Secretary John Kirby explained.
Addressing a media conference on Monday,” Kirby stated:”At the moment, the US security aid to Pakistan remains suspended.
I won’t get into imagining one way or the other about whether or if that will change moving forward.
”
Even the Pentagon Press Secretary was reacting to a query if the new Biden government has examined the coverage of the preceding Trump government and when there aren’t any changes inside or even if that problem had been on the table through discussions with all the Pakistleadership.
According to the announcement issued from the Department of Defence, US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin talked to Pakistan Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa to Explore shared regional interests and goals.
“Throughout the phone, Secretary Austin cautioned his admiration for Pakistan’s assistance for Afghanistan Peace Negotiations and voiced his desire to continue to build upon the US – Pakistan bilateral relationship,” it stated.
