Ludhiana: An employee fled with Rs 26 Lakh from the sock factory at Sundar Nagar on Monday morning.
The factory owner knows about theft at night and filed a police complaint at night.
The defendant has been identified as Rajesh Prajapati from Rafiganj, Bihar.
He worked as a peon at the factory owned by Amit Khurana, a resident of Model Town.Khurana said, “I have received payment from the market and save cash, the bank checks books and other documents in the bag.
The bag is locked in the factory almirah on the day Sunday.
On Monday night, I found the bag lost.
“He checked CCTV cameras and saw Rajesh escaping with it Khurana did not realize that Rajesh was not present.
When he opened almirah at night, he found a bag containing cash and examined the book missing.
“CCTV cameras also catch Rajesh using the key to open almirah.” The defendant has worked at a hosional factory for the past seven years.
