Madhepura: Murliganj Block Residents in Madhepura District have built a straw bridge on the Sungai Benga itself to make village roads accessible by SH-91, block headquarters and other regions in this region.
This section of the river was previously crossed by RCC (reinforced concrete cement), but was truly destroyed by the disaster flood in 2008.
An assistant professor, Firoz Manshuri, told reporters on Saturday, “Although reconstruction work has been carried out, many village roads have been carried out It is still left to be rebuilt in the entire region.
“Villagers affected have difficulty achieving block headquarters and other parts of the district due to the delay in the construction of new bridges.
Therefore, they have built a straw bridge to reduce traffic congestion on the village road that connects the SH-91 with Murigant and Beharigan.
“We have begged for a long time for a rebuilt bridge, but it didn’t work.
As a result, we built this emergency straw bridge.
A concrete bridge is still needed in this area,” Claim Pranaav Kumar, a village resident of Varahi.
He continued, “Even in the most important days of our lives, people from cities move away from our village.
The villagers prefer to hold their marriage in the Madhepura Town wedding room, which is far more expensive.”
