Jammu: One person died and 12 others were injured when a truck and a van carrying workers from Uttar Pradesh collided in the J & K distribution district on Monday morning.
SSP Sway Pd Nitya said, “The accident occurred at around 6 am at Chamalwas Khatana Basti after the driver of the truck lost control of his vehicle, which crashed into the tempo that came from the opposite side.
The accident resulted in injury to 13 passengers in the Tempo which was a laborer from Bijnor Up.
One of the injured, namely Sajid Ahmed (37), then gave up on his critical injury.
“The injured was identified as a driver of Karan Jeet Jeet Singh (40), Gajinder Singh (45), Mohd Ayoub (39), Satish Kumar (39) ), Mustqeem (48), Nazir Ahmed (28), Shah Nawaz (28), Shahel (28), Shahel Ahmed (40), Omesh (24), Akshay (20), Mohd Anwar (35) and Tahir Ahmed (36 ), All residents rise.
The SSP added that a case was registered at the Banihal police station and further investigation was underway.
