Ludhiana: Immediately after the Congress announced a candidate in nine of the 14 constituencies in the district, the lobbyist pulled their lobby against several candidates in an effort to ask the party to reconsider the decision before it was too late.
On Sunday, a former member of the Parminder Mehta Congress Board, who is also OSD to the Mayor of Balkar Singh Sandhu, conducted a press conference and asked the leadership of the Congress to reconsider the ticket to MLA Surdy Dawar in the Central Constitution.
He claimed that the Dawar report did not match the target.
Mehta also highlighted MLA corrupt practices before too.
He claimed that he gave everything in writing to senior leadership.
But the shocking party leaders did not conduct an investigation and he was given a ticket again.
He said many names in the candidate list were against those who had several complaints.
He alleged that Dawawar’s actions had damaged the party’s image.
He accused that Dawar attacked his opponents with fake police cases where some party workers were also included.
Mehta also accused the party to give a ticket to Mlaas like that, they will go to the captain’s party Amarinder Singh.
“But the corrupt people can leave even after winning the election,” he added.
However, Dawar said the allegations were unfounded.
“Mehta is opportunist who left Congress for BJP.
When everything is not suitable for him, he returned,” he added that he had been given the opportunity for the fifth time by the party.
