New Delhi: The Delhi High Court on Friday took the exception to the “scary” situation in Sarojini Nagar Market, with people “flowing like a river.” The High Court warned that even without Covid, such a crowd in a place that had suffered a bomb explosion, could cause hundreds of raids and deaths.
“We issue your last warning and striking.
If there is a loss of life because of Covid, Stampede or explosion in this market, two people will be responsible,” Vipin Judges Sanghi and Jasmet Singh said to Delhi Police Officials and the New Delhi Municipal Board (NDMC) .
“If not, we will suspend you.
Don’t be under the illusion you can fear the court order like this,” the bench to Sho Sarojini Nagar Market.
The court also issued an insult notification of NDMC officials because it did not obey the previous orders about the elimination of encroachment from the market, including illegal vendors and their items.
It also asked Delhi police and Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) to find the planned movement to the market and request NDMC and other authorities to ensure no density.
“We direct DDMA to check the market and make an assessment given the situation of the pandemic,” the High Court added after seeing video recording and crowded crowd images and invalid vendors / vendors.
“These images show that at night, all the items lie there and covered with blue sheets.
There may be a raid; maybe there are hundreds of deaths.
If there is a bomb blast in the area, God forbids if there is an incident, even if there is one bomber , Just think how many people will die from the explosion and invade, “said the court.
Asked that if the authorities did not allow this, how did this encroach occur? It was added, “Don’t tell us that this is managed by stage.
Hundreds of people encourage each other and flow like a river.” The bench said he could not close his eyes after seeing the situation and asked the authorities to take steps every day to eliminate encroachment every day.
The High Court also ordered that items confiscated from illegal vendors or vendors will not be returned with a payment of a nominal fine, as well as the current practice.
It is said that the court order cannot be defeated in such a way.
Meanwhile, the police said that the wall height of the market boundary was very low, which raises security risks when people jump and enter the market, and there are many entries and go out to the market, which must be regulated.
The court asked NDMC to fence down the market wall correctly so that people did not jump and cross them to enter the area.
The High Court heard the request related to illegal encroachment in the Sarojini Nagar market and the presence of illegal vendors and illegal occupants.
