Patna: When people are ready to celebrate Diwali, health experts have warned that exploding crackers or breathing smooth smoke can put the susceptible part at risk, especially those who have recovered from the syndrome of acute breathing pressure by the SARS-COV2 virus causing covid 19.
Doctors advise people, the lungs have been weakened by Covid-19 infection, to stay indoors and wear face masks because the polluted air from firecrackers can inhibit the healing process.
Dr.
Sanjeev Kumar, Nodal is responsible for Covid-19 in Aiims-Patna, suggest that people who suffer from severe respiratory diseases have to stay at home during Diwali and avoid large meetings.
“In the second wave, most patients suffer from lung and breathing problems and many of them still overcome post-covid symptoms.
In such situations, pollution by exploding crackers will add to their problems,” he said.
He quoted a recent study in people with post-covid symptoms, which revealed that some of them experienced hearing loss.
“Bursting of crackers also creates sound pollution in addition to emitting malicious smoke.
Voice pollution can affect the inside of the ear.
Those who want to solve crackers must use less smoke and do not cause sound pollution.
But don’t cause problems for vulnerable people,” Dr.
Sanjeev said.
Dr.
Manggul Kumar Singh, an epidemicist at Nalanda Medical College and Patna Hospital, said those who were very infected with Covid-19 in the second wave had to use masks most of the time to keep them safe from polluted air, especially during Diwali.
“It takes almost six months to more than a year to recover.
If people fail to take precautions, it will be dangerous and harmful to their health,” he said.
“People must avoid fireworks during Diwali, especially those who suffer from asthma, residents over 60 years old, small children or recover from severe symptoms of Covid-19,” his advice.
Dr.
A K Ashu, Joint Director at the Indira Gandhi Cardiology Institute (IGIC), which Covid suggested restoring patients to be more careful as long as they were developed because many of them developed pneumonitis which had ruined their lung tissue.
“Scars of lung tissue can be permanent if they are not sincere about their health.
They have to distance themselves from pollution, especially dangerous pollutants released from fireworks.
They also have to use masks and avoid meetings as viruses transmitting in the air,” he said.
Data reading from several regions that have continuous ambient ambient air quality monitoring stations comes from poor to moderate AQI levels, namely 212 in Rajvanshi Nagar and 210 in Samanpura.
The entire AQI level Patna recorded 171 at 4pm on Monday, according to the Central Pollution Control Agency (CPCB).
