Margao: South Goa District Congress on Tuesday arranged a protest rally in Navelim against a pathetic state of the road in the state and the increase in prices of important items.
The South Goa District Congress Joseph Dias has issued an ultimatum to the government to improve and hotmix roads at the Navelim bypass within 15 days, failed to be warned by greater agitation and blocking NH66.
The work congress of President Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco said the government of the Sawudan Pramod led as “the most corrupt government that has turned deaf ears with the fate of the poor who suffered from poor economic policies”.
Opposition leader drawn for Kamat, while overcoming congressional workers, said that during the recent assembly he had suggested to the government to improve the road, especially national highways because they were clogged because of the construction of roads below the standard and poor workmanship, which has resulted in the worsening of the road .
The government, he said, has failed to act positively to alleviate regular commuter suffering.
President of the Congress Committee of the Goa Pradesh (GPCC) Chodankar Girish, spoke on that occasion, stating that the government had no plans to relieve the suffering of the general public on one of the problems.
