Salem: Governor of Tamil Nadu Purohit Banwarilal on Wednesday appointed R Jagannathan as Deputy Chancellor of Periyar University in Salem for a period of three years.
Jagannathan has a teaching experience of 39 years.
He worked as a Dean, Professor and Head of Agricultural Meteorology, Agro-Climate Research Center and Adjahit Faculty at Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore.
He has published 55 research papers in indexed journals, presents 14 papers in international events and organizes five academic events and international research.
He has presented seven research papers at the national level conference and wrote books and claimed to communicate four books.
In addition, he has executed eight research projects worth RS 764 Lakh.
He has guided 14 Bachelor of PhD.
He has one patent and two memorandum international understanding with his credit.
