CHANDIGARH: Shopping Centres Association of India (SCAI) continues on Thursday urged the Punjab authorities to their prompt intervention to permit malls to restart operations according to routine operational hours at a controlled and secure way.
In a representation into Vini Mahajan, chief secretary, Government of Punjab, the business body emphasized the pandemic has forced the country to take radical steps such as lockdowns that has negatively affected companies and livelihoods of tens of thousands of employees from town.
SCAI added that nearly 80 percent of workers operating in malls, stores and restaurants and Service businesses are out of economically weaker sections and have straight affected with this kind of disruption in companies.
The organization pointed out , being the most powerful area after all of protocols, shopping malls, centers were permitted to begin operations in a subsequent stage during slow unlocking of their country that led to enormous loss of revenue into the industry in addition to Government.
