Colombo: Former captain and Sri Lanka Batting Kusal Perera will lose the six-match series against India starting July 18 because of an unspecified injury.
Perera is the captain of the Sri Lankan team in England but since the central contract dispute between the player and cricket board, Dasun Shanaka has been appointed as captain at a cost.
“Perera’s crafts will almost certainly come out of the Sri Lanka series against India, after taking a shoulder injury.
The team has not met the injury, or pulled it officially, but a team doctor said he would likely come out for six weeks,” Report ESPN CRICINFO.
Perera is one of three Sri Lankan officers in the ODI series against England.
The 30-year-old Perera has scored 3071 Run at 107 ODIS along with 1347 running at 50 T20 International.
