Peru surpassed 200,000 Covid deaths: Officials

Five: Peru, which has the highest Covid-19 death rate in the world per capita, has exceeded 200,000 deaths from Coronavirus, the Ministry of Health said on Friday.
The ministry announced 25 new deaths for the previous 24 hours, bringing the South American country at the symbolic threshold with 200,003 death since the pandemic began in March 2020.
The Andes 33 million also recorded 2.2 million infections.
With 6,065 deaths per million populations, Covid Peru’s death rate is the highest in the world, according to the number of AFP based on official data.
The news came at the time of falling daily cases and deaths associated with increased vaccination, even though the authorities were still worried about the potential wave of new infections because of the dominant Delta variant in this country.
“We maintain high-level control,” said Health Minister Hernando Cevallos recently.
“Maybe that the first and second waves have produced immunity in the population section, such as having vaccination.” The decrease in infection has enabled the government to calm several health care steps and reactivate the economic parts.
Evening hours have been reduced to just two hours while restaurants are now allowed to operate at full capacity.
The number of peruvian deaths was only surpassed in Latin America by Brazil and Mexico, although the population of the countries was almost seven and four times greater.
Before the pandemic, Peru enjoyed one of the most dynamic economies in the region but in 2020 GDP fell 11 percent and more than 2.1 million people lost their jobs when Peru entered the recession.
“We need to be vaccinated so there is no more sadness at home and there are no more orphans,” Mirtha Garcia Espinoza, a 39-year-old two-year-old mother who was widowed by Pandemi, told AFP.
The death value of the Peruvian virus has fallen since April when it reaches 2,500 a week.
Last week it dropped to 169, according to official figures.
Experts blame the Problem of Peru on a large informal economy and an ineffective health care system.
The government hopes to vaccinate 70 percent of the population for 12 at the end of the year.
More than 14.2 million people have so far received a dose of vaccination, accounting 51 percent of those over 12 years old.
