MUMBAI: Petrol cost in Mumbai, Thane and Navi Mumbai has crossed the Rs 101-mark whilst petrol breached Rs 93 markers.
The purchase price of petrol in the Hindustan Petroleum pumps at Mumbai was 101.04 a litre while of petrol was 93.04, gas dealers said.
In neighbouring Thane and Navi Mumbai, the cost of petrol was increased to Rs 101.11 while petrol’s revised rate was 93.11 per litre, they said.
Parbhani gas rate is the greatest in Maharashtra at Rs 103.34 whereas the highest gas speed in the country had been at Amravati at Rs 94.45 per litre.
Around Maharashtra, today all pumps have gas cost over Rs 100 and petrol within a mean span of Rs 90.
Transporters are fuming since they dread that petrol moving over Rs 90 will probably have an effect on the market, also will result in rise in prices of transport and costs of essential products like fruits, vegetables, etc..
Little transporters have been on the brink of shutting stores throughout the country.
“The burden of operating funds without a rise in trader margin for the past fours years has broken the rear of non selling traders.
They’re left unable to beg banks to offer more loans that they find hard to settle.
Thus, any increase in gas or diesel doesn’t benefit pump proprietors considerably,” explained Ravi Shinde of Petrol Dealers Association.
Activists have required both Centre and country must roll excise duty and VAT to some degree to be able to provide relief to customers and bring down costs.
