Pfizer Inc.
and German partners Biontech said on Friday the US government had bought an additional 200 million doses of their Covid-19 vaccine, so the total number of dosages to be supplied to the country to 500 million.
The government has the option to buy the latest version of the vaccine to overcome potential variants and new vaccine formulations, if available and authorized, said the company.
They said that 110 million new doses are expected to be delivered at the end of the year, and the rest on April 30, 2022.
About 86 million people have been fully vaccinated with the Pfizer / Biontech vaccine in the United States on Thursday, according to the US center for controlling and prevention of disease.
