Washington: Pfizer and Bionech on Monday submitted initial clinical data to US health authorities as part of their efforts to find authorization for the third dose of their Covid-19 vaccine for all Americans for all Americans.
Last week, the United States approved Booster Shot of Pfizer-Bontech and a modern vaccine for people with a weak immune system.
Pfizer and Bionech present the results of their phase tests that evaluate the safety and efficacy of the third shot.
“The data we have seen at this time shows the third dose of our vaccine gave rise to the level of antibodies which significantly exceeded being seen after the main schedule of two doses,” Albert Bourla, chairman of the Pfizer and Chief Executive Officer, said in a statement.
“Booster vaccines can help reduce the level of infection and disease in people who have previously been vaccinated and better control the spread of virus variants during the upcoming season,” said Bionth Co-Founder Ogur Sahin.
The company plans to submit the same information to European authorities in the coming weeks.
This step occurs despite interesting by the World Health Organization for the moratorium on Booster Shots to help alleviate drastic injustice in the distribution of doses between rich and poor countries.
Israel also began to give a third dose to its citizens.
