Mohali: The PGI Microbiology Department team took water samples and patient benches infected with cholera and diarrhea in Peer Muchalla on Thursday.
“Under the supervision of Dr.
Neelam, the team collected samples.
PGI has one of the best testing equipment in the microbiology laboratory.
When cholera cases are reported from many places, the department collects samples for testing so that the improvement measures can be suggested,” said Head of the Department of Microbiology from Arunalok Chakraborty.
The team went to houses in peer muchalla and CHC, Dhakoli, to meet patients and take samples.
Dr.
Adlahshpal Kaur, a civil surgeon, Mohali, said 10 diarrhea cases reported from peer Muchalla on Thursday.
Until now, 292 cases of diarrhea have been reported from the area.
