Varanasi: Ballia Police have arrested seven people because they attacked a member of a girl in the Revati Uttartola area after she submitted FIR against a natural Mahtab for sharing her photo on Facebook.
However, the main defendant was still running away.
According to reports, the Mahtab Alam and his hands attacked the girl’s family from other religions on Thursday night, following the tension which applies at Uttarola.
ASP Ballia Sanjay Kumar said, “The police team had been involved in the arrest of the Mahtab and several other accused people who were still running away.
Police and PAC have been deployed at Uttartola as a precautionary measure to avoid escalating the situation further.” According to the complaint delivered by a girl Locity in the Revati Police Station area, Mahtab has uploaded his photo on his Facebook account.
In his complaint, Revati police filed sand against the Mahtab and his accomplices on Thursday.
When the Mahtab knew about FIR, he and his accomplice raided the girl’s house and struggled by family members.
As many as 10 family members and girl neighbors suffered a big injury in the attack.
When he heard their shouts, the people of the girl community ran towards the site.
However, the attackers managed to escape before they could reach the place.
The incident left Uttarola tense.
Regarding information about the incident, so Revati reached the place and warned senior officials considering the situation gravity.
Then, ASP Ballia, Snajay Kumar, HR BANSDIH, Dushyant Kumar, Co Brijbhushan and other officials reached the place with heavy police and PAC.
ASP said that pine to the Mahtab and 17 other people identified and five unknown people had been submitted below in Section 147, 148 (riots), 149 (unlawful assemblies), 452 (dpr trespass), 323 (attacked voluntarily) , 354 (assault) to any woman), 504 (intentionally insulting), 506 (criminal intimidation), 427 (do damage and thus cause loss or damage), 324 (voluntarily cause injury to any photo shoot), 308 (Efforts to commit a guilty murder)) and the Criminal Act (Amendment) submitted in this connection on Friday.
Several teams engaged to the people accused, he added to Saturday morning, seven accused people were arrested while Mahtab and the others fled.
He claimed that all the defendants would be arrested soon.
“The situation is almost normal at Uttartola but as a precautionary measure of police and PAC has been deployed,” he added.
