Physiotherapists rehabilitate telephoto in the middle of a pandemic

Mangaluru: Just like an educational institution adapted to educational mode mixed with this academic year, physiotherapist, especially those who care for patients with strokes, Parkinson’s and statues of Covid-19 respiratory complications, choosing mixed treatment modes.
National locking during the first wave of Covid-19 years ago, had an impact on the level of recovery, especially among stroke patients.
Therefore, most physiotherapists, especially those who deal with neurological rehabilitation of patients, have turned to telephoto rehabilitation, which is a combination of online and offline treatment modes, said Dr.
Amreen Mahmood, assistant professor, physiotherapy, KMC Hospital, Mangaluru.
He said: “Through Tele Rehabilitation, we have been able to provide consultation, supervision, and time guidance.
We see around 18 patients per month for tele-physiotherapy, including Covid-19 patients and pediatric cases and adults with neurological conditions .
However, it is still in the early stages, and we are in the process of establishing the feasibility of the service in Mangaloru.
Everywhere, internet connectivity is a problem or real-time consultation is not possible, we try our best by providing digital devices connected to the application to record Data.
This online consultation, coupled with a once-month visit to the clinic, ensures that patient rehabilitation is not affected.
“He said the world’s reviews and experimental studies have shown that telephoto rehabilitation is equally effective with clinical-based rehabilitation for stroke.
and Parkinson.” We see improved mobility and quality of life.
However, telephoto rehabilitation has not been tried in patients who are in the phase of rehabilitation after the spinal cord and brain injury.
Meanwhile, a private hospital in Bengaluru was conducting a weekly session for senior citizens throughout India.
They took real-time training for one hour, “said Dr.
Amreen.” The challenge is a lot.
There is always fear if the patient falls or sustains injury.
However, the Australian stroke foundation has collected telephoto rehabilitation resources, and the Heart Foundation and Canadian stroke have also issued guidelines for telephoto rehabilitation.
Therefore, there is a guide on exercises that can be taken and the severity assessment is carried out.
Many resources have emerged in the past two years, “said Dr.
Amreen.
