Surat: Suspended inspector AP Salaiya of Singanpore police station and also a businessman Ramesh Kanani were detained late on Thursday night for allegedly coordinating the farewell celebration during curfew hours.
The celebration was arranged on Wednesday after Salaiya was moved into the financial Offence mobile.
Videos of this celebration, which lasted much past the curfew hourshad just one viral on social networking police commissioner Ajay Tomar had suspended Salaiya and arranged enrollment of an offence at the episode.
Kanani was reserved for coordinating the celebration while Salaiya to be a part of this function.
Both were reserved under sections of Indian Penal Code such as 188 (disobedience to order duly promulgated by public slave ) and 269 (negligent action going to spread the infection of any disease dangerous to life).
The offence has been enrolled at Singanpore police channel.
“Kanani had arranged the farewell celebration for its police inspector, consequently both were booked and detained.
They had been released on bond after completing the procedure,” explained a police officer.
