Letter: Police Inspector (PI) UMRA Police Station in Surat and Sub-Inspector (SI) Special branch transferred, while two police officers were suspended in connection with clashes between police and students during the Garba event at Narmad South University of Gujarat (VNSGU) earlier this week.
Based on Investigation Investigations, Police Commissioner Ajay Tomar issued orders for Pi K i Modi transfers from the Umra Police Station and Special Branch of the B Parmar.
Two police officers Isardan Gadhvi and Dharmendragragiri Goswami were suspended.
“The police found responsible for negligence in investigations and based on investigative reports, disciplinary actions were taken against them,” Tomar Toi said.
Meanwhile, on Thursday ABVP members hold Dharna outside of college in the city and block the road.
The BJP student’s body demanded action against the police suspected of struggling students on Monday at the VNSGU campus.
Garba was held regardless of the police’s refusal to give permission because it was prohibited according to the government’s notice.
The incident that was originally planned by the Biotechnology Department students for around 100 participants was hijacked by a group to regulate it on a larger scale on campus.
