Pillur Dam to touch the 100ft full reservoir level when inflow rises

Coimbatore: The water level in the Dam Pillur has reached 97ft and continues to inch towards the 100ft full reservoir level due to heavy rain in the catchment area for the past few days.
The release of water from the dam is expected to increase if inflow water continues and people along the bank have been asked not to dare near the river.
Government officials said that the water level in the dam was 83 feet a week back.
Because the area began to receive widespread rainfall, the water level rose to 86 feet on October 9 since October 9, there was heavy rainfall in the damage area of the dam in Coimbatore and Nilgiris Regency.
As a result, the inflow into the dam saw a stable increase.
On Tuesday morning, the incoming flow with 2200 cusecs lifted the surface of the water to 97 feet.
About 3,000 cusec water is being released from the dam.
However, officials show that there is still rain in Western Ghats and the surface of the water will continue to increase further.
If the rain continues and inflow increases, the dam will touch the full reservoir level in one or two days, officials said.
Finally, officials have also planned to increase the flow out of the dam.
Therefore people who live along the bank have been asked not to explore the river.
