New Delhi: Large accident was avoided in the Indian airspace on Friday when Dhaka’s passenger flight made an emergency landing at Nagpur Airport as Air Pilot Biman suffered a severe heart attack, an official said.
Biman Air BG-022 is on his way to Dhaka from Muscat.
Air traffic controller Nagpur (ATC) received a call from Biman Air Cockpit that a pilot had experienced a severe heart attack, who needed immediately to land.
“ATK Nagpur suggested airport management and reminded the construction of the terminal on Biman air landing which was not scheduled when the pilot had a heart attack in the air.
The medical team along with ambulances rushed to the place for the pilot immediately landed,” a senior official told Ani.
The plane landed safely at Nagpur Airport at around 11:40 on Friday bringing 126 passengers.
The pilot is stable now.
“In accordance with the latest information, the pilot in a stable condition now and the plane is currently parked at the Bay Area.
All passengers have risen and immigration continues.
The airline regulates the crew set for flight operations from Nagpur,” Ani official said Ani.
Airport officials further told Ani that the problem could be serious.
But this is an international airplane pilot that first stipulates contact with ATC kolkata.
“The plane passed near Raipur, Chhattisgarh.
Immediately after it determined contact with ATC Kolkata and coordinated with ATC nearby and directed flights to the ground at Nagpur Airport.
The flight has landed in Nagpur safely,” ATC Ani said.
