Ghaziabad: The police have ordered eight farmers for allegedly digging trenches in the city of Tronica on September 15 and threatened to take the ‘Zameen Samadhi’.
A group of 17 farmers held protests, under the Aegis Kisan Satyagraha Andolan, demanded enhanced land compensation for 2,614 hectares that the upper housing board obtained from local people under the Mandola Vihar housing scheme.
According to the police, they were ordered to have been identified as Tewatia’s manveer, Rd Tyagi, Amit Tyagi, Ramnaresh Tyagi, Bobby Tyagi, Mahendra Tyagi, Naveen Tyagi and Neeraj Tyagi.
Some unknown farmers have also been ordered.
Neeraj Tyagi, one of the protesters, said that the district government tried to frame farmers in this case to intimidate them.
“But we will still hold on to our demands and continue our protests, which will be intensified in the future if our demands are not really heard.” A pine has been registered with the Tronica City Police Station with a complaint submitted by Beware of Vikas Parishad of Mandola.
IRAJ Raja, SP (rustic), said the FIR was registered with farmers under the IPC 332 section (voluntarily caused the wound to prevent public servants from their duties), 447 (criminal violations), 427 (mischief) 270 (malignant actions likely to spread infection Daery for life), and epidemic actions.
“Arrests will be made after a complete investigation,” he said.
