Kollam: Undertrial detainees who escaped from the hospital when he was taken out of prison because medical examinations were chased by members of the Pink Police force here on Friday.
Ratheeshkumar aka aka Rajeev, 44, from Pidavoor Village near Pathanapuram has managed to escape from the hospital.
He served as an undertrial in Kollam District prison on charges of damaging the MLA Pathanapuram office and attacked staff.
According to Kollam City Police, the incident occurred at the District Hospital.
He is one of seven prisoners who are taken to hospital for treatment.
He breastfeeded injury on his right wrist joint and was accompanied by prison officials and the police department.
The police said Ratheeshkumar managed to escape from the hospital while officers who were busy taking other detainees to the outpatient ward concerned.
Immediately, district police chief was told.

Kollam City Pink Squad members of Senior Sindhu Civil Police officers and Vidya civil police officers, who were serving patrols on Jalan Asramam near Chinnakada, also received information.
They see the fugitive, which matches the description.

When they tried to stop it, he ran after pushing them away.
The two women chased him.
They also managed to remind the fast response team of the city commissioners during the pursuit.
Manesh Babu civil police officers from the response team quickly rushed to their help and the three of them managed to catch the fugitive.
