Thiruvananthapuram: After the increasing number of cases of abuse against women, the state police have launched an ambitious project entitled the ‘Pink Protection’ project.
The Chairman of Pinarayi Vijayan’s Minister said on Saturday that this project aims to offer protection for women in public and private places and the cyber world.
He said that there had been an increase in cruelty towards women during locking days.
The pink protection project will come into force since Monday.
The Pink Janamythri Beat patrol team, which is part of this project, will visit houses where cases of domestic violence are reported and collect details of neighbors and Panchayat members.
It will be forwarded to each official of the house of the police station station in the area.
A special trained team, including female police officers, will be present at the KSRTC station, near schools and colleges and other public places.
The pink control room will start functioning in all districts.
In addition, the Pink Shadow patrol team to find Romeo’s anti-social and pink elements, which is a female bullet patrol team, will also be part of a pink protection project, said the ministerial head.
