The water overflowed because it was outbreaks in the 200mm pipe which was put down 40 years ago has worsened the road conditions.
“This damage in the water supply has become a regular phenomenon, and the authorities almost do not care about the difficulties faced by people.
This is a big damage.
The road tends to change into another nightmare for the population,” Savio Coutinho, former Chairman of the Council of Municipal Margao, said.
Until late at night, workers could not find a broken pipe.
The PWD source said that repair work will be carried out on Friday.
“We have questioned the previous contractors about the reasons for breaking into pipes.
And to this day the only reason we get is that the pipe is old.
But we don’t seem to get the right justification why the people concerned don’t make efforts to replace Old and obsolete pipes, “Coutinho said.
Locals, Rajesh Kerkar, Agostinho Gama, Xavier Andrade, Abhishek Sapte, Rawaltar Judge along with Coutinho demanded that the pipe, if not suitable, immediately replaced.
“We hope that MLA drawn locally will do something about replacing pipes that know well that it causes repetitive disorders that cause difficulties to the public.
Now the term of office is complete, we can only expect promises to the next term,” Gama said.
