Chandigarh: Corporation Municipal (MC) has prepared a new sellout plan of the new seller zone to reciminate 1,100 street vendors registered by diverting them from existing sites commercially.
The Civic Agency Engineering Department will now survey this new site to build the seller zone and provide basic facilities.
The new vending zone has been identified in the sector 19, 20, 24, 41, 45 and 52, Darbar Ram, Manimajra and Mauli Jagran.
From this area, the maximum vendor will be resettled at Darbar Ram, Manimajra and Mauli Jagran.
All of these areas are filled with thick.
“UT UT Urban Planning Department has completed 15 new sites.
The zone has been identified after a physical visit from senior MC and UT officials.
Vendors and board members have asked the authorities to share sites where the vendor business can be run in the right way and they are not located In an isolated place.
While the request for new sellers is more, initially15 has been approved by UT.

There are 10,912 registered street vendors, where 3,513 are under the essential service provider category (ESP), 6,259 under the category of non-essential service providers (non-ESP) and 1,140 cellular vendors remaining, according to records.
Previously, the number was more than 9,000.
However, after the MC recently registered a vendor that did not have a Aadhaar Chandigarh card, the number rose.
Monthly seller costs are different – according to work – for vendors throughout the city.
It varies from Rs 300 per month to Rs 2,000 per month.
There are a total of 46 street vendor zones intended throughout the city.
