New Delhi: Farmers have planted 49.9 million hectares (123 million hectares) with summer plants, down 10.43% from the previous year, according to the welfare of the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers, such as rainy season after a strong start last month.

Farmers planted protein pulse at 5.2 million hectares with 5.3 million hectares in the previous year.
These numbers are temporary and subject to revisions during the rainy season in September.
India, one of the world’s top agricultural producers, has received 5% below the average rainfall since June 1, when the four-month rainy season began.
The monsoon rain is 46% below the average in the week until July 7.
The government-run weather office defines the average, or normal, rainfall because between 96% and 104% of the average 50-year 88 cm for the entire season.
