Planting trees in Covid victim memory: ride cm

Lucknow: Trees must be planted at Gram Panchayats in the memory of those who have died because of Covid-19, said CM Yogi Adityanath on Thursday.
He planted a peepal young tree in the Gomtinagar CMS extension place to mark the beginning of Van Mahotsav in the state.
Yogi said Peepal symbolized Lord Wisnu and also called Bodhi trees as underneath Buddha gained knowledge.
He said that in 2017 that the state government had decided to do plantations as a campaign every year.
This year, the state government will plant 30 crore trees between July 1 and July 7, 25 crore trees will be planted in the state.
CM said that of the total tree planted in the past four years, 75% to 90% survived.
He said that more and more people had to participate in the plantation drive after the Covid-19 protocol.
