Hyderabad: Chief of Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has intensified his attack in the middle by targeting the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY).
He said the current policy that regulates plant insurance in the country “is not scientific and false.” Intervention for one hour in the Assembly on Friday, the minister’s head said there were many shortcomings in existing policies that need to be improved to ensure that the benefits of Senkroots won grassroots farmers.
He said the Telangana government would make suggestions to the center after discussions in the assembly in the next session.
“Farmers need justice, but the Fasal PM scheme does not give it to them,” KCR said, but quickly added that it was better to find solutions instead of indulging themselves in the game.
Optional PMFBY for Country: Niranjanhe found errors with guidelines and parameters to compensate for plant losses due to natural disaster.
Both the Minister of KCR and Agriculture S Niranjan Reddy said the center had made PMFby ‘optional’ for the country and it was not mandatory.
Telangana has decided to implement Ayushman Bharat two and a half years after the center launched a national scheme.
City Administration Minister KT Rama Rao previously sucked Ayushman Bharat as the ‘Bakwas’ scheme.
Niranjan Reddy told the house that the state government had paid a premium for PMFby in 2018-19 and 2019-20 and many claims were resolved.
But, the center reviewed the scheme last year and made it optional.
He said the country and the joint center had paid RS989 Crore Premium but what farmers obtained were Rs 817 Crore.
RS 172 Crore remaining goes to insurance companies and not farmers.
“Even progressive agricultural countries such as Gujarat, Punjab, Haryana, West Bengal and Andhra have chosen out of PMFby,” he said.
KCR blames the central system provides compensation for cutting and other damage due to natural disaster, saying has some disadvantages.
