PM dedicates variations of IAS-BHU wheat that resisted disease for the nation

Varanasi: Institute of Agricultural Sciences University of Hindu Banaras added another fur to the lid when the wheat variety, Malviya 838, developed by his scientists, was dedicated to the nation by Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with 34 other plant varieties through a virtual platform on Tuesday.

Ramesh Chand, Prof SS VAI SH from the Mycology and Plant Pathology of the Institute, led by Prof.
VK Mishra, has begun working to develop enriched BIO varieties.
They are happy because the varieties developed by them have been proven to be resistant to wheat explosions, which have emerged as the biggest threat to Asia, the largest wheat producing areas in the world after reaching Bangladesh from imported seeds in 2016.
