PM Encouraged to take Actions for fishermen’s Discharge

MADURAI: Kin of all 24 Indian fishermen arrested by Qatari enforcement agencies at March on behalf of entering their own territorial waters have caused an appeal for Prime Minister Narendra Modi and external affairs minister S Jaishankar to consider actions to their quick release and also to deliver them back into India safely. International Fishermen Development Trust president Justin Antony who shot the problem into the notice of this authorities stated that the anglers comprise 20 in Kanyakumari district in Tamil Nadu and four out of Thiruvananthapuram and Kollam districts in Kerala. They functioned as sailors in Iran in 2 ships owned by Hassan, an undercover. “The 24 Indian sailors combined with four Allied sailors dared for fishing two ships out of Iran on March 22. The very first vessel — Asin — had 10 Indians and just two Iranian nationals while another ship — Yakub — had 14 Indians along with just two Iranian nationals,” Justin Antony told TOI. On March 25, they had been arrested in Qatar on costs of entering Qatari seas. They had been asked at Ras Laffan police station and also testified. The ten Indians aboard Asin were created prior to a Qatar courtroom on April 19, along with a fine of 50,000 Qatar riyal (Rs 10 lakh) was hit on the ship. Justin Antony said that the court had ordered all of the people to be imprisoned until their proprietor paid the good and the ship could be discharged following the fish they’d captured and their fishing equipment were captured by Qatari police. The 14 fishermen on Yakub should be made before the court on June 16. The guys dread that these heavy penalties will be slapped them also. They’ve reached out to their own families in India by using their kin and friends working as addicts in Qatar and Iran to get assistance. “It’s learnt that their company is reluctant to cover the fine. This kind of hefty fine will not be possible for the anglers to endure,” the activist said.
